Chad woulda said “oh no big deal, we can just chill.” And then spent the whole time escalating and only left if he got a hard no mid escalation. Not because he’s upset but because he has better shit to do. You chill, go for the close a few times and when the night is looking like it’s going to be unfruitful, you say your goodbyes with no ill will. Just be like “oh it’s getting late and you do have to go to bed, this was fun, I’ll ttyl.”

By doing what you did, you closed off both of those options and ruined your chances of fucking at all.
