90% of romance anime shares the same premise: a social outcast main character who is unbeknownst to himself above average facially, around htn (which is later usually canonically revealed by some girl saying that the mc is actually considered rather hot among the girls in his school) randomly gets entangled with the beautiful outgoing popular girl who starts to show him her kind and considerate character by cooking for him, helping him with something, etc.
By authors intent this suggests how angelic the female lead is in terms of personality and how she sees the kindness in our mc, reciprocates and they fall in love.
This has always struck me as wildly unrealistic since irl most people usually keep much more distance and are not willing to help so extensively.
However, blackpill easily explains this:
the mc is just a HTN and the girl shows him kindness not because shes just naturally like that but because she wants him and this is her way of virtue signaling/bringing his attention to her. Basically a IOI but a rather bold one.
Now these animes make much more sense: every time I see another HTB showing her kindness to the mc I clearly see whats actually going on (atleast how it would be irl) and its honestly kinda funny seeing it this way
