I don't fucking get it. What is the appeal of watching soccer or American football? Or just almost any sport? It's not like watching a show or reading a book, where you never quite know what is going to happen assuming it's written well. Sport matches have basically almost no unexpected element.

This whole thing was designed to capitalize on the tribal instincts so inherent to the low IQ masses. The modern-day version of bread and circus. Every single person I've known that has been heavily into this shit has been the low IQ working class type.

Jfl smart people almost never give a shit about watching sports. Maybe some play them for some luls but none takes joy in actually watching them.

Watching sports is one of the best ways to socialize especially when meeting strangers.

Yes it feeds on some kind of tribalism but that's the point, that's what makes it more interesting and investing.

It's also a general showcase of talent, athleticism and strategy.

I once sat down to watch a soccer match with my friends and it was the most boring shit ever, every NPC sitting next to me was cheering like a brainless sheep. Some of these morons even have posters of famous sportsmen in their rooms, it is seriously just so cringe to witness.

Dude you know how many hours pro players have to invest to be at the top of the game? Like 8-12 hours minimum if not more. When they get lazy and dont wanna practice they get worse and new players overtake them. Also in contrast to „traditional“ sports where you can get phyisically exhausted and have no energy to train anymore, in esports there is no limit, you can train forever. And you need to have really good coordination skills, reflexes, perseverance, cooperate with your teammates to be a pro player.
