It can be used to learn about different parts of the world, but otherwise it's a waste of time watching vlogs. For me at least, I end up comparing my life against theirs, which leads me to become more insecure. It's better to be blissfully ignorant of other's lives, and continue on with living yours. Boomers were right in a way, when they said that social media creates an environment of insecurity and toxicity. Better to live out your own life, instead of comparing how much better it could be.
