Ways to lengthen ramus without implants?

From what I gather, traditional bimax cannot lengthen the ramus, but are there any ways that can other than the obvious which is implants?

Bonus question: Does anyone know if peek jaw implants cause bone erosion/settling? Its a bit scary as the mandible is only 2mm thick, ive heard of silicone chin implants 'settling' 5mm or so in in extreme cases, if that happened on jaw implants the mandible would erode the whole way through?
