I’ve been looking into non-surgical ways people claim to reduce nose width or make the nose look narrower. I’ve seen quite a few different methods mentioned and I’m curious which ones actually have any evidence or long-term results.
Some things I’ve come across:
If anyone has researched this deeply or has long-term experience, I’d be interested in:
Some things I’ve come across:
- hydrocortisone creams being used for reducing inflammation/swelling around the nose
- retinoids such as tretinoin/retinol for skin remodeling and making the nose look more defined
- azelaic acid for reducing inflammation/redness
- dermastamping/dermarolling combined with retinoids or azelaic acid
- nose pinching/clenching or other forms of repeated mechanical pressure
- other topical products or methods that supposedly change nasal tissue
If anyone has researched this deeply or has long-term experience, I’d be interested in:
- what can actually change cartilage/bone vs only soft tissue
- temporary vs lasting effects
- whether repeated mechanical pressure has any documented effect
- whether retinoids can meaningfully remodel nasal skin/connective tissue
- whether reducing inflammation can noticeably change perceived nose width
- any medical studies, case reports, or less commonly discussed methods
