It's because male attention is crucial to female development during childhood. So, if she has a father that is absent, emotionally unavailable, abusive, or controlling. Which causes her to have low self-esteem and wanting to rebel against her father.

The green flags from my experience, I'll also list some of more obvious since a lot of guys don't know it:

- has good family dynamics or at least gets along with them enough to spend family meetings together on occasions. Big green flag if she actually likes her parents/family members and talks and hangs out with them in her own time, and not only when she has to
- likes animals and/or children, enjoys looking at them and caring for them. This is marker of high empathy, most important thing for choosing a woman. If a woman doesn't feel empathy to cute animals and children then you can be absolutely fucking sure she won't feel any empathy for any other person, you included.
- wants to know everything about you, including smallest weirdest details. This means she really fell for you and you're now rent free in her head, that guarantees you're not just a temporary branch to swing from
- wants to know your birthday dates etc so she can prepare something nice for you, a present or something. A girl that cares for you will do this.
- is not interested in politics (beyond average level)
- is not loud and attention seeking, I think this one speaks for itself
- is good student or at least tries to be, means she cares for what's expected from her as a woman, and that shows in other areas of life, too
- doesn't talk shit about her friends behind their back. Women love to gossip and that will always happen to some degree, but as with everything there are some levels. Green flag if the only bad things she talks to you about her friends or co-workers are those that bother her personally, as in she needs to vent or ask for your advice. And if a woman talks shit about them to you just for the sake of it, even if it doesn't touch her personally, then you can be sure she's talking shit about YOU to her friends in the same way.

- the more stereotypically feminine things she enjoys, the better. If she enjoys edgy shit it's a red flag
