As we approach the Christmas season, why not focus on what really matters? Everyday we choose life or we choose death. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death. I myself struggle with vanity even at 40 years of age, and it is very unbecoming. Vanity in men can kill them literally, not just in the figurative sense. What I'm picking up from you people is the spirit of heaviness. It is what is weighing you down. People who we think of as perfection -even those people are still often not happy with their looks. And even if they are, it won't last forever. Youthfulness is fleeting. Sure , we can look decent in our mid life years, but it will fade as we grow older. Why not learn to let go of the flesh and step outside the lookism bubble? I am trying to do this myself.
Ecclesiastes 2:11 English Standard Version (ESV)
11 Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun.
That being said, there is nothing wrong at all with wanting to improve ourselves. But some people take it to such an extreme. It will never make you happy. You can sleep with hundreds of women and it's just empty. And this is true. This world is our fallen nature. We can overcome. Pray and seek the Kingdom of God first. I did a Sermon about this also. I will try and pray for anyone who needs it . BTW, yes I am leaving here eventually, I was just trying to weed things out in my mind that needed to be said.
