Our universe is a student engineering project or experimental sandbox.
Suffering is part of the simulation parameters; the engineers are studying how complex systems behave under various conditions. Some things seem inconsistent because different student engineers worked on different parts. One team did physics, another did biology, another consciousness, they didn't perfectly coordinate. No clear divine message because the engineers aren't trying to communicate with the simulation subjects they're just observing data. Miracles don't happen because it's intervention and would corrupt the experimental data.
