The reason we see so much discussion and hype about height from girls online is because it is the most easily quantifiable physical trait
Face cannot be quantified as a whole so people will begin to focus on one feature that can be seen as a positive trait simply based on it's size and that trait will be mandible width.
With nose for example, it's not a case of bigger is better or smaller is better, it is always relative to other features, but with the male mandible, we will begin to see a shift to where the consensus is bigger is always better. It will be the human equivalent of a peacock tail.
Most peoples widest point of their mandible is narrower (in appearance) than their zygos thanks to fat and soft tissue, regardless of how they look on a CT scan.
If your mandible is as wide/wider than your zygos despite soft tissue and bodyfat because the bones protrude through it then you will be seen as having facial status because you've got a masculine trait that's easily quantifiable at a glance, even if you've got beta eyes like Cillian Murphy
