As with most thing on this board, the advice about putting 1" lifts in your shoes comes mostly from guys that have never actually tried it. 1" inserts are too much for any standard sneaker, it would be noticeable, and your foot would come out when running. Only like 20% of sneakers can even hide a 1/2" insert. The NB 990 V5s I wear can hide a 0.5" insert

yea liftmaxxing to a significant degree in low top shoes is pretty much not gonna happen. you can only put in <2cm.
