A lot of guys would benefit from just putting some lifts in their shoes. Some refuse to because, ultimately, they do not actually increase in height and will have to take off their shoes.
Nevertheless, in most public occasions, you'll have your shoes on and the only thing that matters at that moment is your height relative to others. Not your height when back when you're staring at yourself, barefooted, in the bathroom.
When wearing an insole is the difference between most men in a business meeting or at the club looking at you eye-to-eye (or up to you) instead of down on you, I don't see why you wouldn't.
