I've been doing neck curls for a good few weeks now and it's been pretty legit for me as I started to see results fairly quickly. I believe that's because the neck muscles are barely ever trained during physical activity so hitting them brings good results in a short space of time.

Anyway, I just recently upped the plate I use for my neck curls from 5KG to 10KG. I think I'll stick this out until I can get it to 20 reps x 5 and keep it at that. As much as I've researched how to do them safely, it's still something I want to be extra careful with.

But still, I'm intrigued to know, for anyone who is currently doing neck curls as part of their routine, what weight are you using and for how many reps?

10kg 12-20 reps

You need to do 3-4 sets of 25 for 3 to 5 days per week and work your way up to 90 lbs, then you will have a huge neck.

Don't just do neck curls but also neck extensions to get the biggest neck (extensions are the opposite flexion of curls).

You can increase by either 5 or 2.5 lbs.
Also, don't aim for 25 reps, I am for your maximum and leave 1 rep in the tank. This way you will progress the fastest. Your 3 sets should never have as many sets if you train hard enough. Every set, you should only be able to perform 2-3 less reps than the previous set, this is why 3x5 and 5x5 are bad no matter the exercise.
You need to establish a rep range, then when you are over the rep range, you add weight.

The neck is the fastest growing muscle, it should only take you 1 year at most to get to 90 lbs for both the neck curl and neck extension. It grows fast but shrinks fast when you stop training it, so you have to keep training it. When you will be neckmaxxed, you will only need a minimum of 1-2 workouts per week to maintain though so its not too difficult.

You are talking about Tom Welling.

Tom Welling was muscular during the show because he gymmaxxed before filming the first episode of smallville and he also gymmaxxed while working on smallville, this is visible when comparing a shirtless scene from season 1 to one in season 6, he looks way bigger but less lean (around 15-20% body fat).

Since neck training wasnt popular back then, Tom Welling must have had good genetics for neck already, some guys have a 19 inch neck without training it, most guys have a pencil neck though.

And Superman is muscular because he is not even human. Kryptonians can fly on Earth because their body is used to a different gravity, but their super strength and their abilities exist because of the yellow sun and even without them, Superman has the genetics to be as muscular as a steroid user without ever going to the gym. This is possible since he is a fictional character.

I know you were joking but I still wanted to answer that well.

I watched it for the first time in 3-4 months (from May to August 2020)

I had watched all the other most famous shows of that era and the years after but not Smallville because I thought that the old CGI and the fact that he is only superman for a few seconds would make it unwatchable but I was so wrong. It still remains in my top 10 of favorite tv shows of all time.

My top 10 is (in no specific order): Smallville, Mr Robot, The Umbrella Academy, The Boys, Supernatural, Dexter, The Flash, Rick and Morty, Black Mirror, and The Last Kingdom.

The Last Kingdom is the last show that I watched, it was better than Vikings in plot but Vikings had better battles.
