This tbh, people hyperextend and do that kipping motion with their neck to try and get over the bar, just straining the neck for no reasonYour form is probably wrong and probably ended pulling too much with your traps while also trying to get your head over the bar.
Best thing to do with pull ups is to aim to get your chest towards the bar instead of aiming to get your head over it.
