Following my boss’s advice I visited a nearby language school, just a 5-minute drive away. It was tailored for working professionals and individuals who already spoke English but were looking to reduce their accents.

I initially expected most of the students to be curries or other parts of Asia but I was surprised to see a significant number of whites. All EE niggas. They had strong Eastern European accent. It was very weird. Like Nigerian, Curry and Chinese accent sounds funny like from comedy skit but EE accent sounds like some double digit IQ crackhead ogre talking. The pauses, the pronunciation were all very autistic

There were also quite a few Nigerian and Kenyan professors attending with the signature African accent. Also the usual Indians, Pakistanis, Vietnamese and Chinese working professionals and a few students, some of them had an almost stereotypical accent from movies. Mine apparently wasn't too bad. Interestingly an Indian VP from a major company I won’t name was taking private lessons there too. Despite having graduated from Columbia and living in the U.S. for over 12 years, he still had a noticeable Indian accent which was interesting that nigga probably only speaks to people in Hindi or something.

Yes accent reduction classes. Brits in past even sent their kids to accent classes to teach them the posh RP accent but nowadays it is more popular with immigrants. The key thing is you need surround yourself with native English speakers. Exposure is the best way to pick it up.

From what you've seen, do Indians tend to develop an American accent just by listening and talking to white guys while living in the US?
Or do you HAVE to go to classes to change your accent?

Haven't enrolled but I am considering. It is a 6 to 12 weeks. 1-3 sessions/week. Around $400 dollars if you one to one with a speech therapist it is around $3000 or more that is what the Indian VP is paying.
