"Herbivore men, or "sōshoku-kei danshi," is a term used in Japan to describe young men who are considered gentle, non-assertive, and less interested in traditional masculine roles like pursuing relationships or marriage. The term was coined by author Maki Fukasawa to describe a new form of masculinity that is not reliant on proactivity and assertiveness."
Herbivore Men became a thing in Japan around the late 2000s. They seem to overall be more accepted in Japanese society than incels in the west. Since they're all essentially part-time worker bees who LDAR.
