That's probably due to relatability, more Italians resemble Morrone. Also Zurzolo was a prettyboy in a teen show while Morrone appeals more to older women, which is a much larger group.

The surveys aren’t cherry picked and they’re not just from YouTube. Practically anytime attractive countries come up, Mediterranean ones are ranked very highly. In one of the surveys Italians were ranked first, even though Italy wasn’t one of the countries surveyed. I don’t know why you’re coping about this. It’s okay to like Britain and France. It’s okay to like them more. I love France. A lot of my ancestors are from there. And both countries are certainly more successful today than Italy or Spain. I’m just not going to deny reality.

I've been to Naples and less touristy parts of Italy too, not just Rome. Same story everywhere. Only North Italian cities such as Turin and Milan had more of the attractive "Italians" (many are half-Germans).
