I was in 4th grade when I was walking and heard other kids saying eww he's getting close get far away fast before the smell hits well back then it wasn't abt looks that much it was abt bullying so they just said it so they make me more hopeless and the bullying happend bc I moved on to new place with strangers no family but it still hit me hard

My oldest Lookism memory is from First Grade, age 5, but surely was not my first Lookism experience. The teacher had asked us to write down what we thought of ourselves, or some such shit, obviously I can't remember all the details. And in retrospect it seems weird that first graders were expected to be able communicate same in written form, so maybe I was actually a few years older than 5, and I am misremembering the timeline. I wrote some things about how I was unhappy with my appearance, giving details about my ears and such. This would not have been memorable excepting the teacher betrayed my trust by sharing my exposition with my mother, whom freaked out and maybe cried, thus shaming me for feeling bad about my looks, the lesson being that I should not complain about my looks because it would upset my mother.
