It annoys me when women less attractive than you tell you they have a boyfirend when you are just talking to be civil. When I see an average girl I have no desire to copulate with her but sometimes you have to engage in conversation because of work etc. They mention their boyfriend quickly in the conversation because they think you must desire them because they are female and you are male.
