Knowing which you have is important for treating
PIE = Post Inflammatory Erythema: reddish /
purplish spots of vascular damage from the inflammation of acne.
РІ = Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation: brownish to dark brown spots of excess melanin from the inflammation of acne.
They are each treated differently (although a few actives can treat both: being faithful with sunscreen, Azelaic Acid, Niacinamide, Tranexamic Acid, Retinol/Retinal/Retinoids) both also heal faster when u keep the skin hydrated and moisturized.
PIE responds well to: Centella, Niacinamide, Azelaic acid, very gentle exfoliation
PIH responds well to ingredients outlined in the
