The Wire for example was a TV show around the same time that was much, much better in my opinion, showing the life of drug dealers, drug users, cops, etc. but it was certainly more interesting and gripping, without many boring parts.

I might be biased too. My father is italian and grandfather was a sicilian so my maternal side always made fun of them being in the mafia
so i grew up kinda intrested in this shit and used to watch sopranos,goodfellas and ect growing up so its also nostalgic.
