Phones always make you look sub human because they have wide angle lenses. Two things you can do to get good shots:

1. Put the phone on a tripod and walk further away. Use a tele lense if your phone has one.
2. Make sure the light is good. Like put a white umbrella in front of a light source to diffuse the light. Make sure the light is not coming from up or down. No harsh sun light. You can take good shots when the sun goes down. You are facing the sun as it goes down. The camera is facing towards you. The sun is behind the camera going down. That is usually good light.
