What are the effects when a country like Argentina or Israel build a bad reputation?

I was thinking about soft power. I was thinking things like tourism. But the core of the problem is just that the masses dislike a country and that will obviously have a negative effect. Like sure a few world leaders could like your country, but to me the masses is what really matters. To me, when israel and argentina build such a bad reputation, it decreases the quality of life for argentinians and israelis, because people seek belonging, community, friendship, and its not right, but people will often not want to even interact with you or be hospitable to your people. Subconscious biases are formed way more often than we realise. Tourism and the economy of those country is directly impacted as less people will want to travel there. Foreign investment decreases as a result.
