I recommend starting with one opening like caro-kann or queen's gambit, learn the tactics first, also endgame & the middlegame are very important, including the a to h and 1-8 files memorize it so you don't leave any pieces hanging, and you'll get to 900-1000, usually the mate is scholars for that elo if I'm not mistaken
