i gatekeep anything i buy/have interest in, so it doesnt get watered down by people who cant comprehend it. A kid will never appreciate Château Cheval Blanc, but a kid will drown in coca cola like a tasteless little prick. yeah i get that

i had the exact same opinion with perfumes till i realized that sharing sth good never robbed my joy in it, it even made it better for myself cus others get to enjoy it too, even if they couldnt appreceate the scent notes the same way i can.

its kinda like when u grow up and start to like gifting others more than being gifted sth because u realize that giving is more joyful than getting and seeing others be happy brings that same feeling to your heart.

but trust me the joy of sharing comes when ur heart matures. for me it happened pretty early during my first real relationship. At one point we went from caring for ourselfs to caring for each other. Everyone still got the same amount of care but it just went form me caring for myself to me caring for her but also being cared for by her.
