Many don't speak good English since they weren't even taught good Spanish, let alone taught much. Many Mexicans that come over here come at a young age and don't even make it past middle school or elementary. Even the older ones that have come/ do come over have the same issue. I guarantee most Mexicans that come over here can't pass a Spanish* freshman spelling test or grammar test because of the financial issue many immigrants had growing up.
