I feel like a lot of old movies get rated high because they're deemed 'classics'. If something like pulp fiction was released today it would get destroyed in reviews, I guarantee it
Sort of. Pulp Fiction is kinda like the Illmatic for films in how many ever since have copied its formula.

My sort of style is films that are artistic/ visual and that don't take themselves too seriously. It's been a while since I watch films, as I don't do it solo. The ones on my mind that haven't been mentioned would be:

Ghost In The Shell
-or more stylistic stuff such as Wicked City.
I Saw The Devil.
Suspiria (remake, had spectacular effects but it gets bogged down, will have to revisit it)
Tetsuo: The Iron Man (the sequel Body Hammer is also as perfect a film you can get. Refined as hell)
Shot Caller (is the coolest crime related film I've come across in ages)
Climax (My favorite Gaspar Noé)
They Live (proto-blackpill dystopia themes, you can't really go wrong with that genre)
If you're into monster/ Jurassic Park esque stuff, Reign Of Fire has a gorgeous ashen atmosphere.
The Northman was ok.
Threads is a brutal post Nuclear Holocaust reset button.
Martyrs. Obviously original.
Riki-Oh: The Story Of Ricky. Just watch it.
I haven't watched Phil Tippett's Mad God or Blade Runner 2049 but I guarantee they would be worth your time.
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk WIth Me (the best thing about that whole series)-Lost Highway-Muhollhand Drive I consider it to be his greatest trilogy.
If you ignore all of the time travel crap then Donnie Darko is absolutely brutal about one's mental health.

I didn't mind The Batman as it was stylistically gorgeous. What I would do to be in a club that film presents.

Both too predictable, you already know what's gonna happen at the end

I watched Creed 3 last weekend and it's obvious how the movie will play out
but both get me hype asf

The Social Network (2010)
Pride And Prejudice (2005)
Both mid. The latter is a terrible adaptation. Watch the 1995 mini series if you're going to watch a P&P adaptation.

I have seen the first 45 minutes or so of The Matrix a dozen times. I stop watching when the Oracle is introduced, the plot is kind of stupid from then on.

It's good for what it is.

The cinematography is beautiful and the soundtrack is good. The fact that it's less faithful to the novel also makes it a bit more fun.

The acting is fucking terrible though. That last scene where she's trying to convince her dad that she loves Darcy is absolutely brutal to watch; it's like she's an alien trying to act human.

But yeah she's obviously a gigastacy.

Definitely wouldn't put it in a top 12 list of post-1990 films. It's not even her best film (Atonement is a lot better).

nah that scene was insane

that single shot close up showed her emotional switch from hate to love for darcy and that is exactly how females are. literal s tier acting right there, very very very subtle yet u can clearly see the natural way one would react

also the kiss is not part of the original movie, they added it in the american version because well... they had to sell more tickets in the US

Lord of the Rings
Robin Hood (2010)
Gladiator
Troll Hunter
Outlaw King
1917
All Quiet on the Western Front
Max Manus
Oliver Twist (2005)
Harry Potter

Taxi driver.
The best incel related film.

Watched peanut butter falcon last night, was really good tbh

The girl was pretty hot. No way a girl like that would be wiping peoples asses in a care home. She'd be getting random donations from simps on Instagram to ever work a job like that

I agree, with whatever I try out the main thing for me if I enjoy it is whether there is a chance for it to have replayability value. Not so much games because they're normally a one-time deal except for gameplay

@forevergymcelling or anyone, if there's anything on my list at least best to start with it's Shot Caller or Ghost In The Shell 1995

True, also the movie was kinda blackpilled in how brutally treated the downs guy was for his syndrome instead of everyone acting like it did not exist as if it were a disney movie.

Holy fuck at how brutal it was for that guy

I literally wouldn't be able to cope in his shoes. There would be a 99% chance I would suicide if that shit happened to me. Especially when his gf decides to leave him.

Then after all of that, the listening device was dogshit. It would've been the final nail in the coffin for me

glad you liked it man, that ending was really powerful, which is why it became a classic to me, and tbh the curry probably roped after the credits
