One of my acquaintances who graduated out of college along with me in CS is soon going to do a Masters in Manegement in the US. I personally think it's pointless tbh.
You spend four years grinding out for a hard technical degree then immediately pivot into a soft degree that mostly teaches case studies, and how to talk in meetings. Feels like burning money on fire and spending two years just to rebrand yourself as management guy instead of actually building or shipping anything. And if you hated engineering so much why do this in the first place
But I kinda get where he is coming fro. Pure tech roles are very highly paid but they do hit a ceiling and a management degree can open doors that coding alone doesnโt but it would make more sense to me if he actually got some experience and then got an MBA for the prestige instead of a pointless MiM degree
