There's a brilliant scene in the movie Don't Look Up(2021) when a bunch of scientists are invited to the White House. They are escorted there by a Pentagon general for a matter of global security. The general sees that the scientists are tired, thirsty and hungry, so he comes with some snacks - a bunch of crackers and bottled water, and says they cost $10 each, since it's the White House and stuff is expensive there. The scientists pay, then the general finds an excuse and quickly leaves. They later find out that all snacks are free at the White House and they've just been swindled.
