What beta-carotene should I take?

I see different products on amazon, but some reviews say that it works well (for skintone) on one product but not on the other. Does anyone have suggestions?

25k iu a day is enough but it takes a couple of months to build up

you need to tan with it as well and ideally take lycopene too or it will make you yellow and jaundiced
