cardio, weight lifting for 8 hours is like burning 450-600 calories.

cardio blows it away

really wish the terms would change though. cardio is just getting your heart rate to about 120BPM, you can do that with weights. It's just that your legs are bigger muscles so it's easier to maintain, just that no one can squat for 1 hour let alone 15minutes.

Well technically weight lifting ( heavy weight, low reps ) increases metabolism function, while cardio stops burning calories as soon as you stop moving, unless you're sprinting which is more of increased muscle instead of increased endurance.

However burning 300 calories of weight lifting is pretty hard to do, while burning 300 calories on cardio is much faster and more manageable
 
Calorie restriction is like, 80% of losing weight.

Exercise helps, but if you eat an XL Deluxe Extra Cheese Double Meat Pizza from Dominoes every day you're not going to lose a single pound. You could run a marathon daily and lift weights 4 times a week. You would still gain weight on that diet.

Calorie restriction > Everything else.

Just regular weight lifting doesn’t burn much calories. If you want to lose fat while lifting do not rest between sets. You obviously won’t be able to do multiple sets of the same exercise in a row so you will have to switch between them. After an hour of training like that you will be exhausted and burn more calories than after a cardio

Being sore is when you have pain for days while your muscles are being "reconstructed" which burns calories too.

Squats,deadlifts,benchpress etc. 5x5 sets
After this session u can do cardio /HIIT
