var has no interaction with the 5ar enzyme. Anything thats a DHT derivative is exactly that, just a derivative. Its a similar chemical makeup but still completely different. This is why you can't pin mast and say oh well im taking dutasteride to protect myself from mast. If you have the gene mast will rape you. Of course using a moderate dose and a topical anti ANDROGEN blocker would be good.
