What can I even do with an overbite

My overbite is actually so bad ive had to perma jutt everytime I go outside because im self conscious on how bad it is, giving me tmj so my parents decided to get me braces even though Ive heard all the bad things associated with it like giving me a flat maxilla for reference im 17 and broke as shit

It's not that braces are bad. The thing is orthodontist will ruin you if he's not working together with good maxillofacial surgeon.

What you need to do is get a bit educated on surgeries and orthodontics and get consultation with good maxillofacial surgeon. Tell him who's your orthodontist, and he'll contact the orthodontist and explain how to prepare you for surgery.

If you don't do it, then the orthodontist will do camouflage treatment (and almost noone will do surgery on you after you get camouflage treatment because you'll lose teeth as your roots would be week).
