What causes flat face?

I know it's a recessed maxilla, but what specifically causes flat face, is it the zygomatic plane? overall downgrown face?

Maxilla is biggest reason. As well as like u said, zygomatic area. If zygos are flat makes ur face looks flat asf combined with recessed maxilla. On top of this, if you have a weak brow ridge/orbital depth as well as flat nose bridge u will legit become flat stanley.
