Some people say it's genetical. But I don't think it's the only reason, because then there wouldn't be so much more people with anxiety today than just a few decades ago.

First, let's define social anxiety: It's self-shame. Fear of being judged. Why do so many people have it today? Possible reasons:

- Humans are becoming more intelligent, which leads them to overthink everything, which leads to fear of judgement from others.
- Parents aren't teaching their kids how to be mentally strong anymore.
- Life is easier today, so humans don't have to go through many hardships and have more free time, meaning they don't have to be emotionally strong to barely survive.

What's your opinion? And is it nature or nurture?

%90 genetics. It is all about your amygdala size and there is no cure for anxiety except being a very agressive person which is impossible in modern society you know

Why do you think there are so many more high inhib people today than a few decades ago? Is it more because of nurture, or are humans naturally high inhib and the modern world lets it be more visible?

As I've discussed with you before, increased parental age results in more genetic abnormalities, so that's a major genetic component. Environmentally, people aren't forced into social situations as much with technological advancement.

Definitely environment

I was fine until I was bullied harshly for 2 years and then isolated in the following years due to depression
If that didn't happen I would be a completely different person right now

Have fun with that 25% chance to experience derealisation and depersonalisation.

I don't think this theory is proven, and CBT is a cure in most cases isn't it?
This is all cope. Psychology is a meme tier science they are all retards, I mean ALL only legit cure for social anxiety is social agression in general

Well, I agree about the genetical abnormalities that could cause other problems, but I'm not fully sold on that explaining the higher prevalence of social anxiety, because I think it could be that social anxiety is purely caused by environment.

Cock and ball torture wouldn't improve anxiety.

I'm interested to hear about this. Can you elab? I'm sure you've greatly oversimplified something

it’s both.

Very definition of social anxiety is fight-or-flight response, name speaks itself. Primal instinct for preparing body for action
Fight flight or freeze Images

Do plants experience social anxiety?

Btw being intelligent doesnt cause overthinking jfl amygdala is all about emotions no effect on intellect

idk man but social anxiety is painful af

What causes socian anxiety? In my case, it was abuse.

I was literally bullied in school, including physical beating.

What to do? Understand the power dynamics of the human species. Understand what people consider "weak" and what causes them to attack. (Normies feel that on intuitive level btw, only autists need to learn that logically. Normies will never consciously admit it however, so no point interrogating them. They literally have a bicameral mind, emotions and logic being separate, and emotions ruling over logic.)

Looksmaxing is a great tool in defensive mimicry btw. It helps you conceal signs of weakness, and that will often stop humans from carrying out an attack. Some defects like short stature cannot be hidden though.

While I believe humanity could live in harmony (unironically following teachings of Christ), currently we are very far from that goal, and the current culture glorifies violence, at the same time denying it even exists. That's the core of bluepill double think: to disorient the victims from pushing back against the aggressors.

The best cure for social anxiety is anger. Don't be afraid of your bully, punch back. Most of the time they don't even expect any resistance.

Well social anxiety is just a form of fear, not really a "new" feeling, I don't think it must be caused by genetic mutations among older parents. Some mental illnesses like schizophrenia are genetic, but social anxiety? I'm not sure.

I agree it's a fight or flight response. But why are so many humans afraid of social situations today? What changed? Imo, it's because of upbringing.
Cold climate caused the evolution of big amygdalas since it is more dangerous you know. There is no cure for social anxiety other than being a raging asshole tbh

CBT therapy. Could mean coldapproachmaxxing, get rejected by 500 girls and the 501th doesn't matter anymore. (y)

Read this study very blackpilled

"Social Anxiety and Aggression Social anxiety often leads people to be shy and withdrawn in social situations. But some people who suffer from social anxiety respond to social rejection with aggression and hostility."

there's no consensus on the heritability of anxiety disorders

this study puts at 26%

this one says it can be anywhere from 30-67%

there's also confounding variables based on genes that don't necessarily cause a person to be genetically predisposed to anxiety in a neurological sense but could result in an anxious life because of constant social rejection (like being ugly)

My social anxiety started at age 13 and peaked during high school until now. I tried all kinds of therapy but it just doesn't work for me.

I'm not sure if they do either, but I certainly wouldn't be arguing that plants experience social anxiety.

and I also believe my social anxiety is heavily influenced by my looks, I guess if I looked better I would not feel this type of anxiety in the presence of others anymore.

It's not. Ur looks change the way ppl treat you and ur looks also affect ur confidence socially. Why wouldn't that be a factor got social anxiety

Does this study argue against CBT therapy though?
