If you don't have autism/aspergers/brain issue then you are NT by default. I was NT in elementary school and once my parents went mental and moved to a different school every few years (6 different schools in 9 years) then I became a socially anxious outcast. Being below average looking didn't help either.

There are a million factors but genetics are the main one. For many other mammals like dogs or pigs of cows or sheep, just being fed formula from a bottle or living with other animals can ruin their social instincts for the rest of their life. It would not suprise me to see that small things like this can affect humans too, but I dont know much about it
