What causes thin biceps?

Insertions? Bone size? Any specific exercises to increase the width of the biceps, or will basic stuff like curls, increase their width?

genetics and dont excerising biceps. The biceps have two heads, one is short and the other is large, the short is in the inside of the arm and is what gives it widht to the biceps. Search for excercise that are focused on the short head of the biceps

Thank you, I forgot that it likely has to do with underdeveloped biceps short heads.

If you train them properly and with adequate eating they get big no matter the insertions and your other bullshit mumbo jumbo cope.

17 non-pumped natty and lean is probably the limit for someone with real good but not crazy muscle genetics. A non-pumped true lean 18+ is where you really stick out and most people will never get that without roids.

Questioning why your biceps are thin, (specifically on the inside) but have a more or less, average peak, is "retarded" and "cope"?

I'm training them regardless of their insertions and size, I was just curious if there was a specific reason that they're thin, and if there were specific exercises to make them wider, and you basically answer with "INSERTS AND GENETICS ARE MUMBO JUMBO HOCUS POCUS COPE! DON'T ASK QUESTIONS, JUST TRAIN!".

Thankfully I got an actually useful response from someone, explaining causes of thin biceps, and how to make them wider.

Where does that 17 number come from anyway ?

My arms are probably smaller than that but since I always get complimented on them at the gym or outside I guess they really are big to most people.

Calorie surplus , 200g protein a day + progressive overload for growing
 
Pretty sure 90%+ guys are sub 13 inch, obesity aside.
