Your degree does not matter. Your University does. Best advice that I can give is not to rush to University at 18. Instead, achieve the best A-levels possible. Get A*A*A or higher. If you don't get A*A*A at 18, retake your A-levels in the following academic year. Do NOT apply to University until you get ≥ A*A*A

Go into something like Mathematics instead probably.

Econ is good but Mathematics is applicable to more fields and is overall more difficult so it looks better.

Degree doesn't always limit you to a job in that area of degree, but the closer you are to stem the more you make fresh out the gate when you graduate.
