what did my gf mean when she said she loves "BBC" and hates my "little pink shrimp"

i dont understand because we only have a dog and 2 cats (all hers). we have an aquarium but it only contains zebra fish so i dont understand what does she mean shrimp?
and BBC like yea they have some funny shows sometimes but usually the US versions mog
