im working rn from home as a software engineer but in the office it would essentially be the same shit

writing some backend code for a new API my team is building

usually i'm documenting, writing, testing code, creating the testing and design documents for that code, doing daily standups where i say what i did yesterday and what im doing today, supporting other teams, reading internal and external documentation, lots of meetings that waste my time, lots of browsing .org

but to be honest with u, i have absolutely no idea what other departments are actually doing

i have walked around in my company HQ before where all the cubicles are and notice its just a lot of people typing away at the computer, answering phone calls, chatting with coworkers, tbh a lot of time wasted
