What do you think a fair price for a livable 1 br apartment in a large city should be?

I'd say $1,000/month

Youll never find one for less than 2,200 unless you want bug ridden shit holes. Fair price would be in imo, 1,800

I said should be. Landlords are greedy mfs. Most adults that work full time jobs should be able to afford their own place

Lol these niggers asking to pay more even in a hypothetical situation

No one gives away products or services for below market value landlords aren’t some special type of greedy

"In a large city" where? Define "livable", define "fair price". These threads man...

1) NYC/LA/SF, neighborhoods outside of the main city centers with decent selections of restaurants/entertainment options

2) Something about this big - comfortable and homey with windows and some space to move around but nothing extravagant

3) The rent that you think people should ideally have to pay for such an apartment in a just world where trust fund babies aren't flooding every remotely desirable area and driving up rent prices

No, that would cause shortages. Learn economics dude.
Exactly that’s not how it works, the problem is that there isn’t enough supply to meet what the demand would be at a lower price and you can’t fix that with subsidies or price ceilings
