Was he crazy or a genius revolutionary

He wasn't crazy. He was just pretty adventurist. His foco theory never worked outside of Cuba.

Cuba worked, but Cuba had unique conditions: weak government, popular discontent, strong leadership (Fidel), favorable geography.

Yes. In Bolivia, before the Granma even landed, there was the National Revolution of 1952 which gave a lot of benefits to the Indian majority, so when Guevara & the ELN went in there, they were not willing to link up. Helen Yaffe argues that he was better a theorist of political economy than a guerilla strategist. Guevara famously said "2, 3, many Vietnams...", so GiΓ‘p mogs him, but because he has a subhuman face that can't be printed on a T shirt, he's ignored by communists. Broootal
