again, some people might enjoy a story that others hate

I agree that JJK and solo levelling storytelling wise aren't anything extraordinary, but they're more than servicable

JJK and solo levelling are carried by cool fights and aura moments, and there's nothing wrong with that

I've really enjoyed "Sakigake!! Otokojuku" recently. It's definitely not one of the best oat, but it's definitely one of the most fascinating of all time. It's interesting to watch cause it was made in the 80s for a very insular Japanese audience, and never intended to be viewed by westerners. It's funny to see how it gets a lot of things wrong about the west.

It's also funny to see how the Japanese nationalist sentiments at the time came through in a lot of the plot and depictions of characters. The main characters (high school students) are 7 foot chads who look like soldiers from Stalinist realist propaganda, who walked right of the paper to bitch slap you with glorious Japanese nationalist pride.
