I did DoorDash for a few days and it’s 100% worse than a normal part time job (in terms of pay)

Not as good as a job, the benefit is that its flexible, you decide your hours.

true but its more comfortable then a normal job, getting to be alone and chill in ur car w music , no one managing you, etc

way better conditions

how much worse is the pay?

although they're not THAT profitable, it's a hard working job man. It's really tiring according to my friends though. They work for hours and hours (from like 10AM to 10PM) sometimes just to make like 300-400 dollars a day. Also depends on the car you have, sometimes if the car is smaller it might not give you as many orders as it would give you with a bigger car.

You can do amazon flex it pays more as i know. If you're going to do doordash, get

Mystro Driver - Which basically lets you run doordash, uber, uber eats and other sat the same time. you can do doordash, uber eats and gopuff at the same time on there. will help you alot

I mean I have a car from 2002 with over 170k miles

If doordashing were to cause my car to break down, all of the money I earned would be useless

The pay itself isn’t horrible but when you consider EVERY other expense it’s not good

The only good thing is that u can js be driving around and listening to music

I’ll probably do it a few more times js bc I can’t get a scheduled job rn

As soon as I graduate ima get a normal job tho

My homie does it and can reliably afford rent + food just by Doordashing, but he also has a second job. If you're doing it all day and on weekends as well and the people you're serving aren't assholes you'll get tons of tips.

25 an hour a day isnt too bad (12 hrs, 300 dollars)

id imagine gas fees would subtract but thats still better then a minimum wage fast food job right?

it is and it isn't at the same time

with a fast food job you're guaranteed a pay with doordash you either get an order or you don't. sometimes it can be 400 bucks sometimes it can be a 100 it's weird depends on where you live and the # of other doordashers in your area

nope, only doordashing, my location is decent and my car has pretty good gas mpg, and i work 38-39 hours a week. it gets very easy after the first week or 2 your just listening to podcasts/music and making ez money and getting out of the car for 10 seconds to drop off the food.

I dont think it is worth it to work only at DoorDash

The good thing with it is that you get to chose your own hours, so if you have already have a job you can work a few extra hours after your shift.

I say it’s alright, my only problem with it is raising gas prices and putting gas into the cost of traveling all around the place.

ill try it out when i turn 18 in may

the risk is crazy though imagine getting in a crash or ur car breaking down, that would insta neutralize all profit

it can be very good or very bad, it all depends on location. dont ask me what locations

i know it sounds like that, I tried it out and its kinda ass for:
  1. long wait times when the restaurant is preparing the food and you wait sometimes
  2. having to wait for offers to pop up, you wait like 6-20 mins sometimes with nothing
  3. low earnings (sometimes $10 an hr or max 2 orders)
just accept offers that are $1 or $2 per mile, I was on an e-bike so I had a shittier experience but given you're in a car it might be good enough to try it out
I suggest multi-apping in any case

same here, pretty much the experience I had tho
