What does each psl rank mean?

I’ve seen people say ltn is average and others say it’s sub 5. And I’ve seen people say that Mtn is above average etc so I’m kinda confused on what each ranking means

Mtn is psl 3, which represents the average. You might ask why psl 5 isn’t considered the average. The reason is that psl 6 is chad, which sits at the absolute high end of the curve. Anything above psl 6 (gigachads and terachads) is so rare that it shouldn’t even be considered when measuring averages.

That’s what I thought too but it seems people think ltn is average I’ve been looking around in the forum for psl charts rankings, psl numerical rankings, ratings and it seems majority of people on the forum think Mtn is above average so it can’t be average

Well people can be wrong most of the time, so we should just use simple logics here; mid tier normie means the average and ltn means slightly below it. It's very simple and doesn't need overthinking.
