will they make my forearms bigger or more vascular? or will they only make my wrist stronger?

buy some dumbbells and an incline a bench and start doing rows

good i guess but i've always prefered using dumbells for doing forearms
 
Get Huge Forearms from Caloric Surplus, Heavy Deadlifts and Pull-Ups, Climbing.
 
Deadlift with a normal grip and no strap all the time, you will never load your forearms as much as you will do with deadlifts.
Rope climbing, towel pullups, farmers walk, are good exercises too.
The grippers get weak very fast and you got to buy stronger ones.
 
Grippers aren't enough unfortunately, there's many different muscles in the forearms. This makes it a very time consuming muscle group to develop and probably not worth pursuing for a non-gymcels imo.
