What exactly is inhibition?

Some people describe it as risk-taking which is funny because I always take risk all the time but when I tell people I'm too scared to talk to women they say I'm low inhibition? Is it possible to be cautious in some areas and not in others honestly everywhere besides social interactions I'm pretty willing to risk myself to physical harm. So am I low inhibition or high inhibition?

Basically self regulation. High Inhib you can control your emotions and actions, while low inhib is the opposite

Thanks for the clarity people on here always describing inhib as risk-taking All my risk taking is very controlled risk taking it's very intentional.

best way for me to say it is like inhib is inhibiting you from socializing in general. the worst it’s ever been for me was when i was at the mall and i was in between some furniture and the store attendant was asking us for preferences but i had bumped into the furniture slightly and my legs became stiff asf so i was paralyzed for a few seconds i need to fix this problem before august lol
