What haircuts should i get to proggresively grow out my hair from a buzz cut to longer hair without the awkward phase

there will most likely be a bit of an awkward phase but you can get some fades or just short sides to let the top grow and once you got some volume on top you grow the rest.
what causes the awkward phase is generally that all your hair have the same length which when growing is weird.
