i myself have wavy/curls and this is what i do.
condition it everytime you take a shower, in the weekends put some argan/castor oil in it, massage it in. shampoo 3 times a week with a sulfate free shampoo. sometimes, once in every 3 to 4 weeks i grab my sisters shampoo with sulfates and shit and i use it sort of like a deep clean to get all my dead skin cells out etc.
and just get the sides and top cleaned up bro. be specific how much you want off because barbers are the most deaf persons on earth. also bring a picture if you can.

i second this, my hair went from wavy to forming some coils follow r/curlyguide technique.
ill sum it up
you do a reset shampoo (no silicones, but sulfates) once for the first time, and then maybe every month or after you use silicone products! as it dries hair out and then condition
after that, i cowash, which is conditioner wash, then i wash that out, then i condition again and comb it out. then let it air dry, my hair is like 3a now when it was like 2a before lmao

Well just wash your face twice (morning and at night), try benzoyl peroxide and change your pillow cases more often. Try to fraud your height up a few centimeters as well.
