Depends, I’m in the process for double jaw surgery in the U.S, it’s considered elective even when insurance is covering it and it’s medically necessary.

My surgeon said the risks and botch rate is extremely rare especially for CCW compared to CW.

If they fuck up a nerve or something you have to go on you’re own to a specialist to fix it.

well not exactly it can become aesthetic without them intending it, severe underbite, overbite if the gonail angle is fine the BSSO would work both functionally and aesthetically

yes, cosmetic changes are a side affect obviously, what i mean is, the surgery will be optimized for functional gains, there are a few docs who do both func + aesth balance

It’s pretty low risk, they can 3D print and plan these operations out down to fractions of a MM.

Cosmetic wise I’m going to ascend extremely hard even though it’s fully airway focused because I have excess verticals growth and will be getting a 6 degree rotation.

Personally I don’t think they can make mine look bad my gonail angle is okay I just have a rlly shit overbite a few mm would save my side linearly

Excess vertical growth is when the maxilla grows downward, it caused that long face appearance and that downward swing mandible.

The maxilla is like a shelf, with mouth breathing, orthodontic camouflage, and bad oral habits when developing it can slant down and cause a ton of medical issues.


Example of mouth breathing’s effects during development, can be reverted now with the advancement of surgeries and 3D planning.

I might post the results because I don’t even view this as surgery to change how I look. It’s what I was supposed to look like if I developed properly.
